The Arizona Cardinals finally filled their head coaching vacancy after one of the worst seasons in franchise history. Arizona finished the 2025 campaign with just three wins and ended the year on a nine-game losing streak, prompting the team to move on from Jonathan Gannon after three seasons and a 15–36 overall record.

Now, the Cardinals are set to hire Mike LaFleur on a reported five-year contract. While the move brings a fresh voice to the organization, it has done little to change how Arizona sports betting apps view the Cardinals heading into the 2026 season.

Super Bowl Board Still Unforgiving for Cardinals

Even with LaFleur coming in as head coach, the Cardinals Super Bowl odds remain tied for the worst odds in the NFL. Arizona is currently listed at +20000 at DraftKings AZ, matching the Miami Dolphins for the longest odds on the board.

Much of that skepticism centers on the quarterback position. The Cardinals benched Kyler Murray late in the 2025 season in favor of Jacoby Brissett, but the change did not lead to better results. This offseason, Arizona is widely expected to evaluate new options at quarterback, including the draft and the veteran market.

Until that situation is resolved, the Arizona Cardinals' odds are unlikely to see a meaningful boost.

What LaFleur Brings to the Table

LaFleur enters the job after helping oversee one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses with the Los Angeles Rams in 2025. His work with Matthew Stafford helped power a high-scoring unit, giving Arizona hope that the offense can take a step forward under new leadership.

Still, the challenge is significant. The Cardinals play in an NFC West that sent three teams to the playoffs this season, with the Rams and Seahawks both reaching the NFC Championship Game. That level of competition makes a fast rebuild difficult.

For Arizona, the combination of a new head coach and a major quarterback decision will shape the direction of the franchise in 2026, and determine whether the Cardinals can climb out of the bottom tier of the Super Bowl futures market.
