The Arizona Department of Gaming has released its May 2026 event wagering report, tracking Arizona sports betting handle, operator revenue, promotional credits and privilege fees generated through the regulated market. The report covers activity across the state's licensed retail, mobile and limited event wagering operators.
Total Wagering Handle and Payouts
Bettors wagered a combined total of $676,657,478 during May across Arizona's retail and mobile event wagering platforms. Operators paid out $608,749,068 in winnings during the month. The difference between wagers and payouts produced gross event wagering revenue of $66,270,483 before promotional credits and other adjustments.
Arizona's regulated event wagering market includes licensed mobile and retail sportsbooks overseen by the Arizona Department of Gaming.
Revenue After Promotional Credits
After deducting promotional credits, adjusted gross event wagering revenue totaled $47,576,058. This is the taxable revenue used to calculate Arizona's privilege fees. Free bets and promotional credits, often featured as Arizona sportsbook promos, totaled $18,711,350 across all operators during May.
Privilege Fees and State Revenue
Arizona collected $4,756,520 in privilege fees from May's wagering activity. The privilege fee is calculated as 10 percent of adjusted gross event wagering revenue. All figures in the report are self-reported by operators and remain subject to adjustments after audit and review by the Arizona Department of Gaming.
