Update: Christopher Bell won the first NASCAR Cup Series race at Phoenix earlier this year. The series returns to Phoenix for the NASCAR Championship race this November.
This week, Phoenix Raceway hosts the Shriners Children’s 500 NASCAR event, the fourth race in the 2024 Cup Series schedule and a major Arizona sports betting event. The green flag is scheduled to fall at 12:30 p.m. Arizona time (3:30 Eastern). Kyle Larson comes in as the most recent series winner. The Hendrick Motorsports driver dominated the field in the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas on Sunday, winning both stages and the race for his first victory this season.
He was the favorite at DraftKings AZ at +400 odds in Vegas last week and led 181 of 267 laps.
NASCAR Odds at Phoenix Raceway: Shriners Children’s 500
Larson also enters the Shriners Children’s 500 at Phoenix Raceway as the favorite. He is listed at +600 with DraftKings, just ahead of defending series champion Ryan Blaney (+700) and Larson’s Hendrick teammate, Daytona 500 winner William Byron (+750).
Bettors at Arizona sports betting apps might want to keep an eye on odds for two drivers who have won three times apiece in Phoenix, Joey Logano (+1400) and Kyle Busch (+1200). They appear to be two pretty good value bets entering this weekend as does Denny Hamlin (+900) who snagged the pole for Sunday's race.
NASCAR Phoenix Starting Lineup
Qualifying for the Shriners Children's 500 is officially in the books and the field is set. Denny Hamlin, driver of the #11 car for Joe Gibbs Racing, was the fastest not only in Group A qualifying but in the final 10-driver round. His teammate Ty Gibbs qualified second.
The past two winners at Phoenix Raceway, William Byron and Ross Chastain, each qualified fifth and 12th, respectively. Defending NASCAR Cup Series Champion and the runner-up in the last two Phoenix races Ryan Blaney will roll off in 16th place.

Recent NASCAR Phoenix Results: Blaney, Logano Top Active Drivers Since Feb. 2021
Out of the drivers entering Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series races at Phoenix, Blaney has been the best in recent times, with an average finish of fourth in six races at the one-mile oval since 2021.
He clinched his series title there with a second-place run last November. Here is our form chart for Phoenix since 2021 — note that nine-time Phoenix winner Kevin Harvick, who is second in best average finish in the past six Cup races there, has retired as an active competitor. Those taking advantage of Arizona sports betting promos can find many ways to bet on the race, including prop wagers at some sites.
