Arizona in Middle of Recruiting Pack

Among the 16 members that will comprise the Big 12 conference in 2024, Arizona’s average recruiting ranking of 50.6 since 2020 ranks as the eighth best, sandwiched between Iowa State (48.2) and Cincinnati (51). You can track Arizona Wildcats odds in both football and basketball through the year at BetArizona.com.

The leader among Big 12 members is TCU at 34.8, while Utah (36.6), West Virginia (41.2), Oklahoma State (42.4) and Texas Tech (43) round out the top five.

For the Wildcats, their overall score was dinged by the end of the Kevin Sumlin era in 2020 and the team’s 1-11 campaign in Jedd Fisch’s first season in 2021, which knocked Arizona’s ranking from 59th in 2020 to 76th in 2021.

Since then, Arizona’s ranking has climbed steadily, highlighted by the 22nd-ranked class in the nation in 2022, before sliding back a bit to No. 40 a year ago and 56th in 2024 thanks to losing Fisch to Washington earlier this month.

Still, Wildcats fans can rest easy knowing Arizona is well ahead of the school’s in-state rivals from Tempe, who are 12th out of 16 Big 12 programs with an average recruiting class ranking of 55.4. Arizona betting apps have the Sun Devils national title odds at +50000.

If you’re eyeing championship odds this early, it’s wise to shop around. While FanDuel lists Arizona at +12000, Betway Arizona lists the Wildcats at +800, third behind Kansas State and Utah for the best title odds of any Big 12 team.
