Cardinals Opening Stretch Appears Bleak

The Cardinals face an absolute gauntlet of an opening five-week stretch, playing five straight teams that went .500 or better to open the year.

With combined 2022 records of 54-21-1, Arizona will get no easy breaks when it comes to earning its first win of the season, which is why we gave it short odds to lose in each of those contests.

Arizona’s best loss odds come in Week 1 against Washington with -200 (or a 66.7% chance) of losing to the Commanders on the road Sept. 10. If fans want to use Arizona sportsbook promos to take a chance on the Cardinals, they are 6-point underdogs against Washington on Sept. 10.

The next best chance comes in Week 2 against the Giants, with +225 odds of Arizona falling in its home opener in Glendale.

For now, Cardinals fans can look forward to the team’s opener against the Commanders in September, holding onto the hope Arizona has what it takes to prove oddsmakers and analysts wrong.
