Golden Nugget, Betfred, Desert Diamond Casino Launch Mobile Arizona Sports Betting Operations
By Christopher Boan

A trio of Arizona sports betting mobile operators have recently gone live, giving customers in the state more choices in the new year.

Betfred Sportsbook Arizona, Golden Nugget, and Kambi Group have quietly launched since the first of the year, becoming the 13th, 14th, and 15th of 18 companies licensed by the Arizona Department of Gaming to start operations.

Betfred and Golden Nugget have only launched desktop sportsbook sites, while the Tohono O’odham Nation’s Desert Diamond Casino has its mobile application up and running through its partnership with Kambi Group.

Betfred launched a retail location last year at the We-Ko-Pah Casino in Fort McDowell.

Desert Diamond Casino opened six automated sports betting kiosks at its Sahuarita location in Tucson in early December.

Licensed operators have until March 8 to launch mobile operations in accordance with the ADG’s 180-day deadline from the Sept. 9 launch date.

Where the Arizona Market Stands

The addition of Betfred (partnered with the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation), Golden Nugget (partnered with the Hualapai Tribe), and Kambi Group (partnered with the Tohono O’odham Nation) leaves three new Arizona sports betting apps yet to launch in the state.

Bally’s Arizona (partnered with the Phoenix Mercury), Digital Gaming/Betway (partnered with the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe), and Hard Rock Sportsbook (partnered with the Navajo Nation) are the remaining licensed operators yet to set a debut date.

Representatives from Bally’s Arizona previously told BetArizona.com that they’d be operational in early 2022.

Hard Rock Sportsbook signed on as partner with the Navajo Nation in late January. A spokesperson for the company told BetArizona.com Tuesday it hoped “to share an update soon.”
