It’s been a golden three-year run for the Phoenix Suns, who won 53 games per season on average between 2020-21 and 2022-23 under former coach Monty Williams, in advance of featuring what many believe to be their most legitimate championship roster in years.

Suns Middle of Pack in October

Since 2017, Phoenix has ranked 15th out of 30 NBA teams in terms of October record, at 14-16 (.467), sandwiched between the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami, who have gone 16-15 (.516) and Cleveland and New York, which have gone 14-17 (.452) during that span.

Leaguewide, Milwaukee (22-9/.710), Toronto and Utah (23-10/.697 each) have posted the NBA’s best overall record in October, while Houston, Orlando and Sacramento are tied for the worst record in the league, at 11-21 (.344).

Looking ahead to the Suns’ season opener against the Warriors, oddsmakers from Caesars Sportsbook Arizona have the contest as a pick ‘em with an over/under of 232.5 total points and a moneyline of -120 in favor of Phoenix. The Suns go from Golden State to Los Angeles to face the Lakers on Oct. 26, then wrap up the month with home games against Utah (Oct. 28) and San Antonio (Oct. 31).
