Thanksgiving is under two weeks away, so it's time to start seriously considering which side dishes you'll want to prepare before placing your wagers on Arizona sports betting apps and settling on the couch for some NFL action.
Utilizing Google Trends, BetArizona.com analyzed the most popular and best Thanksgiving side dishes of Arizona residents by looking at the search results of each side dish from Nov. 1, 2022 to Nov. 30, 2022. The dishes analyzed were the most in total searches in the United States, including mashed potatoes, stuffing, mac & cheese, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, candied yams, brussel sprouts and cranberry sauce.
While The Grand Canyon State has a healthy respect, and appetite, for mashed potatoes and green bean casserole, it's stuffing that residents easily seem to crave the most. According to our BetArizona.com data, searches for stuffing made up 15% of the Google interest last November in the state. That easily topped all other side dishes, including mashed potatoes and green bean casserole (tied in second with 8% each), mac & cheese (7%) and cranberry sauce (just 3%).
And stuffing also topped the interest in both Phoenix and Tuscon as well, with the side dish landing 36% of the interest in each respective city.
As officially defined by Merriam-Webster dictionary, stuffing is “a seasoned mixture (as of breadcrumbs, vegetables and butter) typically placed inside the cavity of a turkey, vegetable, etc. and cooked.” However you want to define it, know that if you're in Arizona for the upcoming holiday, you'll want to get to the grocery store early, as residents will make sure the ingredients fly off the shelves!
